This service provides short term (up to 8 weeks) of practical support and assistance to older people who want to remain in their own home.

We help to overcome practical difficulties by putting you in touch will all the services, which can provide help and we will tailor a package of support to meet your needs. The type of help we can offer is very wide ranging and can include the following: -

Ø      Accompanying you on visits to hospital

Ø      Making arrangements for help with cleaning or shopping

Ø      Making applications for benefits to which you are entitled but not claiming

Ø      Arranging for a handyperson to carry out minor jobs in your home

Ø      Providing information about different types of accommodation

Ø      Arranging for aids and adaptations to your home, which may improve mobility

and reduce the risk of falls

Ø      Assistance with decorating

The support service is free but other services may make a charge
