An Introduction to Care and Repair

Manchester Care and Repair is an independent home improvement agency that has been working closely with the City Council over the last 13 years, covering many areas across the city of Manchester.  We are a not-for-profit organisation.

Care and Repair exists primarily to meet the needs of older homeowners. Older homeowners are most likely to live in unfit housing yet, if they are receiving income support there is no element to cover repair and maintenance.  The health impact on older people of cold, damp and unfit homes is considerable and the disruption of a move, even if possible, may not be beneficial.  Care and Repair assists the older person to assess their options, obtain finance and supports them through the repair process.

'At Manchester Care and Repair we work to take the worry out of getting repairs and improvements done'
